Joanne R. Nelson has been training and teaching Tae Kwon Do since 1980. She currently holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Ms. Nelson also has rank in Inayan Eskrima, and Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu.

Joanne Nelson has been the sole proprietor of American Martial Arts Academy since 1982. This is the 25th year of American Martial Arts Academy.

The Nelson Family Has A Total Of 50+ Years Of Training In The Martial Arts

Ms. Nelson has three children who hold the rank of Black Belt. Her youngest son, Michael currently teaches classes at AMAA.

The Next Generation

Ms. Nelson's oldest granddaughter, Kaitlyn Jo Zblewski has just started her journey to Black Belt. Kaitlyn Jo currently holds a Gup 3. More Recently, Gwendolyn and Jack, two of the younger grandchildren have started their journey to black belt.
